  • Justin Truesdell Emerged on Top of the WSOPC New Orleans Main Event
Justin Truesdell emerged victorious as the 2011-12 World Series of Poker Circuit season ended last Monday night at the Harrah’s in New Orleans. But it wasn’t enough that he won it. According to its entire history, Truesdell also emerged on top of this biggest main event field. Out of the 694 players who joined, the 30-year-old NOLA resident was the one who took home the first place prize of $204,747 from a total prize pool of $1,008,700. This is his 2nd career gold ring. He also grabbed a seat in the 2012 WSOP Main Event and another one in the WSOP National Championship to be held 6 weeks from now.

  • SCOOP 2012 Currently Breaking All Records
SCOOP or the 4th staging of the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker is currently breaking all records when it comes to player participation in an internet series. So far, it has already recorded 526,154 registrants, meaning, it has already surpassed its own 2010 record of 461,936. That’s a clear 14% increase. And this is in spite of the fact that US players can’t join since the US Department of Justice has closed down a lot of poker rooms last April 15, 2011 like Absolute Poker, Full Tilt Poker, and PokerStars to name a few. Impressive, isn’t it? Particularly when last year’s tally attracted 403,378 buy-ins from a total of 156 countries and 107,697 individual players which brought the collective prize pool to $43,165,800.

  • WPT Championship Day 2 Update
It’s rare that a tournament’s second day starts with 98 players and culminates with 95. But then again, WPT’s championship has such a unique structure that those who have the money to spare ($25,000 to be exact) and are still willing to gamble can continue to register for the tournament. So even if 40 players have already been eliminated during the two days of play, it still managed to end with 95 players at the end of Day 2.
